ONCE UPON A TIME
It was not an easy path getting my degrees. My children were 2-5 when I went to college and my marriage was a roller coaster. Despite that, I made it, and went on to work for a community hospice program for 10 years as a Music Therapist. While doing the honorable job of singing and playing music and helping hospice patients and families with their end-of-life goal. It was such a fulfilling job and I knew I was appreciated. My marriage ended, and I later remarried. Then, I had a tug on my heart to start working with children and adults with disabilities in private practice. Let me just say, that was an amazing, fun ride! I loved operating the business. I was proud of what I built, but then, another tug on my heart strings needed focus. It was my family. There were some intense situations that I needed to focus on. I knew it was time to close the doors and turn my attention elsewhere. I had "retired" from music therapy.
Prior to the passing of my mother-in-law in 2019, there was much encouragement from her, other family and friends who knew I was studying for the real estate exam. I really wasn't planning on being a real estate agent. It is so cool when you're on a path thinking it was just for fun, and it turns out to be your new main squeeze. That's exactly what happened! And, I'm so glad it did. Real estate works well with my family and home life, and I completely love working with people to find their dream home.
As a homeowner myself, I have become a serial DIYer. That's what my husband calls me. I always have the next project planned out, but with a rule that I don't start one till I finish that last. I try to adhere to that ;) How bout you?
